• 1916 - Launched HRL - modeled demands for India on Irish nationalist practices.
• League worked all year round.
• It built a structure of local branches, enabling it to mobilize demonstrations, public meetings and agitations. 
• 1917 - Arrested and interned at a hill station, where she defiantly flew a red and green flag
